Review: Ribs and Rumps (Gold Coast)

6:53 pm

Before Mr Curious and I headed to the Gold Coast, someone told me about a place called Ribs & Rumps, and that I had to go. Having tried Hurricanes in Sydney and loved the juicy tenderness or the pork ribs, and that sauce, oh how good Hurricanes sauce is, would Ribs & Rumps be a close contender?

Mr Curious and I ordered the Pork Ribs, slow cooked in their special marinade, and grilled in their special basting, served with fries or baby potatoes and sour cream. It was a close contender to Hurricanes, the meat was lean, juicy and the meat fell off the bone. However, the sauce wasn't as epic as Hurricanes (my mouth is watering thinking about it) but was still good. You also get the option of cheesy bib to wear if you feel like you're a messy eater.

Miss S and N shared the Ribs & Ribs & Ribs platter, a combination of beef, lamb and pork ribs with a serving of fries. You couldn't really go wrong if you wanted to try them all. They enjoyed the ribs, but even between the two of them the serving was too big so Mr Curious got some extra ribs to try.

Mr Curious having tried all three, declared that the pork ribs were probably the best of the lot, juicy and tender, whilst the lamb came runner up and the beef just close behind. Ribs & Rumps at the Marina Mirage, Gold Coast was busy with people and had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. For those Melbournians looking for another ribs place to try, there is also one now open in Preston.
