Napier Hotel

5:46 pm

Today I had lunch at the Napier Hotel, Fitzroy with my mum and sister today. It was a sort of belated birthday lunch for my sister. I had told my mum about the Napier and its epic bogan burger. We took the bus down, and caught a tram outside St Vincent's Plaza.

Two freshly toasted ciabattas encasing a potato cake, cheese, chicken schnitzel, pineapple, caramelised onion, bacon, steak, mayo, beetroot and salad. Oh and don't forget the fried egg in there somewhere!

The Bogan Burger comes with wedges and coleslaw on the side, but after eating that much burger it's hard to finish everything off! I shared the burger with my mum, whilst my sister ordered a Black Angus porterhouse steak with crinkle cut fries and salad on the side. Topped with mushroom sauce that she requested to have on the side. It was about 350g of steak! It looked good and she said it was cooked to her liking with a nice crust on the outside and rare inside.

Afterwards, we headed to the tram stop along Brunswick St to pick up my Vline train ticket at Southern Cross Station. Luckily the 112 tram goes along Brunswick St all the way to Southern Cross! We took the train back home, then picked up some takeaway dinner from Box Hill to eat on the train to Shepparton.
